PSALM 63:6 – Remember God at the End of Each Day

PSALM 63:6 – Remember God at the End of Each Day

This Week’s Theme – Remember

October 23, 2018

When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.

Psalm 63:6

Thought For Today

When David penned the words of Psalm 63, he was writing from experience of a life that was often chaotic. He may not have always laid his head down in the same place two nights in a row. Wherever he laid down, thoughts of God laid down with him.

Here is the difference between the wicked heart and the Godly heart. The sinful heart never thinks about God, but the Godly heart can’t help but remember God. Not only did he remember God, but he also chose to meditate on Him.

If you have trouble sleeping at night, remember God and meditate on Him. You may find a few minutes remembering His blessings are more energizing than the few minutes of sleep you could have gotten.

Psalm 20:7-8 – Remember: Where Your Victory Comes From

Psalm 20:7-8 – Remember: Where Your Victory Comes From

This Week’s Theme – Remember

October 22, 2018

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright.

Psalm 20:7-8

Thought For Today

The difference between those who place their faith and trust in Christ and those who don’t is in where we put our confidence. The Christian puts his trust in God; the unbeliever puts his trust in everything else.

Read these two verses carefully and notice the results, one has fallen, and the other will rise up.

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright.”
Psalm 20:7-8

2 Corinthians 12:9 – Adversity: God’s Grace Is Sufficient

2 Corinthians 12:9 – Adversity: God’s Grace Is Sufficient

This Week’s Theme – Adversity

October 19, 2018

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

Thought For Today

God promises us that His grace will be sufficiently delivered to us when we need it most. He will supply all the strength for us. He knows how to bring vitality back to our tired soul, bring hope back to our hurting heart, and bring power back in our time of weakness.

Philippians 4:12-13 – Adversity: I Can Do All Things Through Christ

Philippians 4:12-13 – Adversity: I Can Do All Things Through Christ

This Week’s Theme – Adversity

October 18, 2018

I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:12-13

Thought For Today

It takes spiritual maturity to know how to trust God in the bad times as well as the good. When things are not going well, God is good, and He can be trusted. When things are going fantastic, remember God is still the source of all that we have and all we have received. Do not forget to trust Him in both circumstances.

I Peter 5:10 – Adversity: May Your Suffering Be Short

I Peter 5:10 – Adversity: May Your Suffering Be Short

This Week’s Theme – Adversity

October 17, 2018

But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

I Peter 5:10

Thought For Today

Today’s verse is a prayer, “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.” I Peter 5:10

The first part of the prayer is that your suffering will only last a little while. The next part of the prayer is that the result will be that you ended up stronger, settled and perfected on the solid foundation of who you are in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is your rock in all circumstances.
