Psalm 57:1 – Until The Storm Passes By

Psalm 57:1 – Until The Storm Passes By

This Week’s Theme: Confession – by Ken Turner, July 9, 2018

Psalm 57:1

Be merciful to me for my soul trusts in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge until these calamities have passed by.

Thought for today…

Take refuge in the shadow of God’s wings until your current storm passes. We can’t control the storm, but we can control our response during the storm, and we can choose to seek Him as our refuge.

Psalm 32:5 – Acknowledge The Sin

Psalm 32:5 – Acknowledge The Sin

This Week’s Theme: Confession – by Ken Turner, July 6, 2018

Psalm 32:5

I acknowledged my sin to You and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.

Thought for today…

People like “no hidden costs.” We like to know the “out the door price.” If you have damage that needs repair, you want a true estimate that’s not drastically higher or lower than the real cost. We need to treat sin the same. When you acknowledge your sin before God, be accurate. Don’t try to make things right with God by being dishonest about your true spiritual condition. The more you practice authenticity with God, the more authentic your relationship with Him will become.

How To Have A Personal Relationship With God – by Ken Turner

Romans 10:9

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Thought for today…

The most significant decision you will ever make is the decision to believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

Here’s How To Have A Personal Relationship With God
Do you know for sure you are going to heaven?

Here Are Four Things You Need To Know

1. All Have Sinned.
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23.

2. There is a Payment for Sin
For the wages of sin is death (meaning spiritual death, separated from God), but the gift of God is eternal life (in heaven with Him someday) through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23.

3. Jesus Paid For Your Sin When He Died on the Cross
But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8.

4. If You Will Believe in Jesus and Ask Him Into Your Heart, You Can Be Saved.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10.

If you want to have a personal relationship with God and be with Him in heaven someday, why not pray and ask Him into your heart? A simple prayer like, “Dear Lord, I realize I am a sinner, and the payment for sin is death, separated from God. I also understand that Jesus paid for my sin on the cross when He died and rose again. Today I put my faith in Jesus alone and am asking Jesus to come into my heart and forgive me of all my sin. I want to be a child of God, and I want to live my life for You. Thank you for saving me and for your forgiveness. Now guide me as I seek to live my new life as a Christian and serve you.

I John 1:9 – How To Confess Your Sins

I John 1:9 – How To Confess Your Sins

This Week’s Theme: Confession – by Ken Turner, July 3, 2018

I John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Thought for today…

Sometimes a faithful Christian finds it challenging to confess their sins to God on a regular basis. Years ago, a friend shared with me his method for getting past this roadblock in his spiritual growth.

The first challenge was identifying sin. You see if you are a person who attends church regularly, and you have developed consistency in your spiritual walk, it may be challenging at times to think of ways you are struggling with sin. If you’ve slipped away from Him, on the other hand, your struggles are probably more clear and identifiable.

Here is an exercise for you to try. This exercise will give you a breakthrough in your prayer time of confession. Here is my friend’s method for confession.

Take out a clean sheet of paper and your Bible. Read scripture (you might consider Psalm 51) and pray, asking God to bring to mind any sins you need to confess. Wait on Him to respond, and you will be surprised at the things that will come to mind. Write it down. As God brings each sin to mind, continue to write them down. You may end up with a list that fills your paper. Now, pray and ask for forgiveness for each one, then mark through it until you’ve confessed all of the sins on your new list. When you have finished, throw away (or shred) your paper. That’s what God just did with your sins. He cast them as far as the east is from the west.

Psalm 103:12, As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

I John 4:15 – I Confess, Jesus Changed My Life

I John 4:15 – I Confess, Jesus Changed My Life

This Week’s Theme: Faith That Works – by Ken Turner, July 2, 2018

I John 4:15

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

Thought for today…

Are you living in with a full commitment of faith in Jesus Christ? Do you genuinely believe that Jesus is who He says He is? He is the Son of God. God abides in Him. He abides in God. He is the only source of salvation. He is the door to unlock a personal relationship with God and attain heaven.  Your faith in Christ is shown to the world when you believe it enough to confess it (admit it, talk about it) to your friends, family, and acquaintances. Are you a messenger of the gospel to those around you? It’s time to start confessing Christ to the world.

Colossians 3:17 – In Words and Deeds, Glorify God

Colossians 3:17 – In Words and Deeds, Glorify God

This Week’s Theme: Faith That Works – by Ken Turner, June 29, 2018

Colossians 3:17

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Thought for today…

Whatever you do, glorify God. Glorify Him in your words and deeds.

Speak words that bring glory to Him, words of encouragement, words of gratitude, words truth, wisdom and words that communicate love for others. Glorify Him in your deeds. Do the right thing. Give 100% effort in your work, pay attention to the details, be generous, listen well and act like a Christian who has been transformed by the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
