This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
Thought For Today
Let’s mark this day, the day the Lord has made, with honor and great joy! God created these days, each day as a new day for you and me. Let’s be a good steward of each day He gives us and let’s honor Him for this gift by approaching the day with great joy and gratitude.

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21
Wherever your treasure is, your heart will be there too. Choose to treasure things of eternal value. Why? Earthly possessions are vulnerable. Moths destroy fabrics, rust destroys metals, and thieves can always steal. It’s hard to know when you’ve accumulated enough here on earth, especially if you genuinely “treasure” material possessions. So, God gives wisdom about treasures.
Treasure things of eternal value. Treat things done for eternity just as real as things accumulated here on earth. And treasure the eternal more than the earthly possessions.

But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
I John 3:17
Some of God’s most faithful servants are poor. But others of God’s most faithful servants are rich. Does this please God? Yes.
God has a plan for each of His children, and His plan is in line with His perfect will for us. In their life filled with exceptional need, those who are serving God learn to trust Him and follow His plan. In their life of abundance, God’s wealthy children learn to enjoy God’s material blessings and also learn the joy of life-changing generosity to those in need.
In both cases, there is a test of love. Do God’s struggling children love Him enough to serve Him in times of poverty faithfully? Do God’s wealthy children love Him more than money and possessions and show their love through incredible generosity. God’s giving plan is not socialism, it is driven by a heart of obedience to the one who owns it all.

But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
II Corinthians 9:6-7
It makes sense that a person who sows in small amounts will reap a little, but a person who sows generously will reap with an abundance. God wants His children to experience the joy of giving freely, with a purposeful heart and be full of joy because generosity brings happiness and more of God’s provision.

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.
Luke 6:38
God often uses mankind to show His heart to others. He promises if we give and give generously, He will make sure we experience bountiful blessings also. When we give, we will not just receive back His generosity, but He will be sure we receive in abundance, pressed down and running over.
Generosity and gratitude for all of God’s blessings are truly a game changer in your spiritual walk.
