1982-1987, Sales and Marketing, Thomas Nelson Publishers, Nashville, TN
Employed in the Thomas Nelson Sales and Marketing Division called Varsity. Worked in the summer marketing division in door to door sales of Bibles, Bible reference and educational books. Worked in the sales division as well as the student manager division. Recruited, trained and managed organizations within the company. Led a top organization within the company of over 25 students. Also worked as a full time recruiter for one year.
1987-1989, Youth Pastor, Metropolitan Baptist Church, Nashville, TN
Developed a new weekly youth program that grew from 6 to 60 teens within one year. Served as full time youth pastor, coach in the church Christian day school and taught leadership classes on the high school level.
1989-1994, Youth Pastor, Community Baptist Church, South Bend, IN
Served as full time youth pastor and outreach pastor for 5 1/2 years. Developed church wide outreach as well as extensive youth outreach in the community. Developed a weekly youth program that reached approximately 75 teens each week.
1994-2005, Youth Pastor, Colonial Hills Baptist Church, Indianapolis, IN
Full time youth pastor, outreach pastor for the first couple years on staff, and developed new outreach ministries. Led mission trips to Idaho, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Developed an extensive youth discipleship ministry called High Impact Teens and a parent ministry called PANIC (Parents of Adolescents Need Instruction and Care). Also helped found Youth Imperative, a National network of youth leaders that grew from 12 to 1000 youth leaders as members.

Youth Imperative was formed in 1999 as a ministry serving and training adult youth leaders. Served as National Executive Director from 2000-2007. Developed regional conferences for youth leader training, a quarterly magazine for youth ministry and a resource website.
1996-present, Part time founder and president of High Impact Teens, Indianapolis, IN
Formed High Impact Teens primarily to publish the High Impact Teen one-year spiritual journal. The journal includes Bible reading schedules, a spiritual journal, a prayer journal, scripture memory and more. Over 12,000 teens have used the High Impact Teen Spiritual journal.
2008-present, Full time founder and president of Ken Turner Ministries, Zionsville, IN
Founded Ken Turner Ministries as a ministry outreach to Indianapolis area troubled youth and families. Currently serving as a volunteer chaplain at the Indianapolis Juvenile Detention Center, I lead a weekly Bible study called Man Up! In the first twelve months I have seen over 60 teens saved, developed and led the Mentor Outreach Team of the juvenile detention center, developed and led the Parent and Guardian Support Team, ministered to over 500 parents and led the Man Up Conference on Biblical manhood.
Qualifications
Have been involved in local church and parachurch ministries at all levels. I have worked with church youth and unchurched youth. I have worked with teens but also been very involved in ministry to parents of teens. Traveled for several years presenting youth ministry workshops through Youth Imperative. God has allowed me the unique opportunity to be in ministry and invest in the recruiting and training of those who are entering ministry.
