The staff at the Caring Center in Lebanon, IN has asked our ministry to partner with them on a temporary project over the past few weeks. The project is part of an initiative to address the needs of families who have landed in poverty and specifically understand their circumstances. My part has been to have a one on one family interview with twenty families. Each interview takes 60-90 minutes and the goal is to seek to “understand” what exactly is going on in their life and put a plan together to help. God is teaching me so much through the stories of these people. This project is also a part of the new program the Caring Center
launched in Lebanon during the month of March called KAT (Kids at the Table). KAT is a program being developed by the Caring Center hosted at the Lebanon Boys and Girls Club. The three elements are feeding kids a hot meal, providing recreation and mentoring/homework help. I’ve been asked to come in a couple times each week to do mentoring of some of the youth most at-risk.
